Chapter 3

There were at least 50 of the things gathered in the basement and more were pouring down by the second. They started to close in on him. “Eat lead!” he roared while blasting the creatures to oblivion with his duel pistol armada. He started to lessen their numbers, but more and more kept pouring down the stairs. CLICK CLICK CLICK went the pistols. “Why now?” he asked himself. He looked around for some cover. He spotted some. “If you don’t have what you want, make it.” That was one of his mottos his dad had told him since he was young. Sevyon then ran over to a dining table in the corner of the basement and pulled it out, flipped it sideways and flung it down. He dropped behind it and began refilling his armament. A creature jumped over the table and landed on Sevyon. He grabbed it, stood up, and flung it back at its companions then quickly went back to reloading. Thankfully the creatures didn’t seem intelligent enough to just charge him and take him by numbers, nevertheless, they did keep pressing slowly towards the table. Sevyon slid the second cartridge back into his pistol. He could hear the creatures very close on the other side of his makeshift cover. “Head’s up!” He yelled as he kicked the table into the mass. He left no time to retaliate as he began firing immediately after. The monsters were stunned by the table hitting them and began to fall back as they were wasted by pistol fire. He stopped only for a second as he reached over and grabbed one of the chairs that had been at the table and flung it at the beasts as well. Things were once again going his way when a felt something grab his leg. “What in the world?” He looked down and as he did he saw the full situation. Not only were the monsters pouring down the stairs, but now they were coming in from the exit where the rest of the people had left. There was no escape. “Oh SNAP!” He yelled at the top of his lungs. He kicked the creature off of his leg and began firing at the monsters gathering on both sides of him, one gun for each side. Once again the dreaded sound reached Sevyon’s ears. CLICK CLICK CLICK… “I have got to get out of here…” A monster lept at him, but he clubbed it with the pistol. He had to make a plan. He looked at the rest of the furniture that was in the basement, then back around him at the surrounding creatures. “I’ve got it” He said to himself. He pocketed both the pistols we was wielding and rushed over to the couch. “Eat this you filthy stinks!” He yelled as he grabbed the couch and slid it across the floor towards the back door, charging the creatures like a battering ram. “Like bowling if you could control the ball” Sevyon thought to himself as the smashed the creatures down with his battering ram. Soon he was out the door. He pushed the couch out of his way and began sprinting around the house towards the front yard. He heard a shotgun shot. Sevyon sighed. Not more. Not now. He grabbed both of his pistols and held them like clubs. When he got to the front of the house he took the situation in. Mommy was in the driver’s seat of the van firing Sevyon’s rifle out the window. Not only did she know how to use it, she was making good use of it. Rangorax was on top of the van firing down. The creatures were coming out from the house and making their way towards the van. “Open Sesame!” Sevyon yelled. Johan opened up the side door. A monster jumped up onto the van, but Sevyon got there and clubbed it over the head with his weapon. He jumped in and slammed the door hard. Rangorax swung down through the window in the passenger’s seat. The van was already running and Mommy threw it into gear and put the pedal to the metal. The tires squealed and the van sped off down the street with the monsters left in their dust. They were safe. For Now.
